David Leith :: Work :: Zen Escalator at Active / Passive Festival

Zen Escalator is an improvising instrumental electronic duo (Lee Hutzulak & Dave Leith) based in Vancouver Canada and Galiano Island. The two utilize a select mix of hardware synths to create atmospheric soundscapes, addictive arpeggios and melodic bliss.

Filmed live at Active / Passive Vol. 4 at the Yellowhouse Arts Centre on August 21st, 2022 on the shared stolen and unceded traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island British Columbia. Active / Passive is an annual “slow concert” featuring creative, experimental, singular and exceptional performances in a natural amphitheatre.
